Casino and Salon Games on the Internet
It’s no coincidence that Poker is the most popular casino game. This card game, which has an official history dating back almost 200 years, has seen many changes. And, among the free online casino games, Texas Hold ‘em and Omaha Poker attract the largest number of players worldwide. The aim of the game is to build the strongest hand, and defeat your opponents with better cards. Each additional hand is an opportunity to raise the stakes and poker bluff.
The holders of the best cards do indeed often raise the stakes, thus forcing their fellow players to place a matching bet or withdraw from the round. The 'bet' is set by the first chips placed in the round. In each subsequent betting round, players can check, call, raise or fold – and they can do this at each stage of a game: the 'pre-flop', 'flop', 'turn' and 'river'. Those skilled in doing battle at the poker table may opt for the 'all-in', and gamble every last chip on the turn of a card. Such a decision, though, should not be taken lightly, as a misplaced bet on the wrong card can leave a player broke.
- Texas Hold ’em
In Poker Texas Hold 'em, each player must create a five-card hand. The winner will be the one who holds the strongest hand, which itself is determined by the cards they hold. The lower the odds of a hand being made successfully, the stronger it is. At the start of the game, players are each dealt two “hole” cards – which are most often concealed from opponents. Next comes the “flop”, three community cards, which players can use to build a winning hand. After another round of bidding the 'turn' card is dealt, followed by more betting and then the 'river' card, which players can also use.
- Omaha Poker
Omaha is an older version of poker than its sister game Texas Hold ‘em. Players use four “hole” cards, which they may complement with three community cards. Half of the cards held by a player must be used. In this game, the best hand wins, but, unlike in Texas Hold 'em, victory relies to a greater extent on luck than on strategic skills and experience at the table.

Table games are a staple of most all casinos, big or small. Some casinos even specialize in only offering table games. These types of facilities are better known as “card rooms.” While most gambling enthusiasts are familiar with popular table games such as blackjack and poker, many are surprised to find out that there are a plethora of other table games too. Some games, such as Three Card Poker, are derivatives of more popular table games, whereas others, like Roulette, are unique and have less variations.

Poker Games
Poker is a table game with many different forms and variations. Many people think of poker as a game that is played against other players, and this is mostly true, but there are also versions of the game that are played against the house or a live dealer. Though Texas Hold’em is the most popular and widely played form of poker, the game has many variations. These include Three Card Poker, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud among others. Poker (non-house varieties) is the only, for all intents and purposes, casino game that allows for a long-term profitable edge for the player.
Unlike slots and other luck-based games, poker is a game that involves elements of both skill and luck. Many inexperienced poker players have found out the hard way that it takes a little more than simply sitting at a table and laying down chips to come out on top. Poker can be found at most casinos regardless of size, though the smaller the casino the more unlikely it is that they will host many of the more obscure poker games. Below you can learn more about each of these varieties in full detail.
Most Popular Poker Varieties
Poker as you would find it on television or in tournaments often include just a few poker varieties. These will be Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, and other similar games. Poker games that are played against the house and are not featured on television include Three Card Poker, Pai Gow Poker and Ultimate Bonus Poker. While this is the case today, many new and exciting varieties are popping up each year.
Blackjack
Blackjack is another popular table game that you will find in almost every casino. Because it is a simple game that is easy to learn with relatively good odds, blackjack draws in countless numbers of casino-goers. The game is offered at multiple stake levels and is able to cater to any type of bankroll. It is not uncommon for some smaller casinos to offer up tables with limits as low as $5, while you can venture into a high limit room where the table minimum is $1,000, $10,000 or more. Follow our link below to learn more about blackjack, proper strategy, payouts and more.
Like poker, there are a few different variations of blackjack. Some types of blackjack differ in the way they payout winners while others are different due to the actual rules of play set forth by the casino. As is the case with poker, you will be hard-pressed to find a casino that doesn’t offer blackjack. Some casinos in-fact only offer blackjack and other table games. These are commonly referred to as card rooms.
Other Popular Table Games
While the two aforementioned table games involve playing with a deck (or decks) of cards, some other popular casino games like Roulette are entirely different. Roulette features a metal ball which spins on a numbered wheel where winning or losing corresponds directly with the number or color on which the metal ball lands. Accompanying the wheel is a table with identical numbers used by players to place bets.
Roulette
Roulette is a game based entirely on luck, with payouts ranging from 1 to 1, to 5 to 1, and even as large as 35 to 1, depending on the type of bet you place. With every player standing a chance to win big with just the spin of a wheel and little to no knowledge of the game, it is easy to see why so many people are drawn to this game. Craps
Craps is like roulette in that it is a popular table game based entirely on luck. In craps, you are betting on the chances your roll of two dice will yield a number combination equal to the number on which you wagered on. Played on a large table and usually with crowds of cheering people surrounding it, the craps table is almost impossible to miss at the casino. There is some strategy behind the game of craps, though for the most part the player is relying almost entirely on luck. Read the full World Casino Index guide to craps below to learn more.
Casino War
Casino War is one of the simplest table games at the casino, and involves one player facing off against the dealer in a battle to see who will turn over the higher card. It is not as widely spread as other games like poker and blackjack at casinos, though you should be able to find tables in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and other popular gambling towns. Like many of the other table games above, there is no real strategy for playing war.
Baccarat
Baccarat is another table game that is commonly learned without too much strain. In baccarat, players have the option of betting on the player or banker winning, or they can bet on a tie. All of these options have differing odds. As is the case with games like roulette and casino war, baccarat is a game of complete luck. It also has its fair share of derivatives, most popular of which is EZ-Baccarat.
Pai Gow
Technically, Pai Gow is just another type of poker, though most people are unaware of this. Instead of playing against other players however, Pai Gow enlists all players at a table to play against the house. This Asian version of poker is unlike your typical Texas Hold’em games, but is a staple at many casinos around the world.
Caribbean Stud
Caribbean Stud is another derivative of poker which was first developed in the early 1980s. Now, the game can be found at most casinos in the US and major casinos around the world. In Caribbean Stud, everyone at the table is playing against the dealer in hopes of yielding a better 5-card hand. The way you place wagers in this game is a lot like a Texas Hold’em-type game, only a bit more structured.
Three Card Poker (Tri Card Poker)
Free Casino Poker Games
Three Card Poker, as the name suggests, is yet another version of poker. This game also pits players against the dealer where the person with the better poker hand out of the three cards is the winner. Like any poker game, three card poker invokes both a player’s luck as well as his or her skill.
Let it Ride (Let ’em Ride)
Casino Poker Games List
Let it Ride is a table game which closely resembles 5 card stud. In this game, players make one wager that is split up into three parts, of which two are able to be withdrawn. Unlike a lot of other table games which involve little to no skill, there is some strategy that comes into play during Let it Ride.
